The SANTOS ANJOS Vocation [IMPRIMIR]
“The Angel went on to say to her: Do not fear, Mary. You have found favor with God.” (Lk 1:30) The Annunciation also echoes in the hearts of those who feel the call to the Santos Anjos vocation. When we realize something very special surrounds us, something real, which immerses us deep into the meaning of this call, leading us to discover ourselves as sons and daughters of this vocation; we find peace, joy and gratitude for this election – God’s election.
When the heart hears the voice of the angel saying: “do not fear” because “the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you” (Lk 1:30; 35), the soul feels moved by the Lord to go and follow Him. He starts responding in a way that will be built by the Holy Spirit along the Vocational Path because “nothing is impossible with God.” Then, at the right moment, the final answer will be “I am the servant of the Lord. Let it be done to me as you say.” (Lk 1:37-38)
In principle, every faithful Christian in full communion with the Roman Apostolic Catholic Church may be admitted as a Member of the Community, as long as they have gone through and were approved by the Vocational Formation Path.
This path begins with the candidate’s participation in a Vocational Meeting or Retreat, and has the following stages:
1st Stage: BEGINNER: A period of a minimum of 6 months
2nd Stage: POSTULANCY: A period of 2 years
3rd Stage: DISCIPLESHIP: A period of 2 years
4th Stage: CONSECRATION
As of August 2010, our Calgary Mission have one Consecrated member (VeraLucia Cottim-Coughlan); one first-year Disciple (Tim Coughlan) and one first-year Postulant (Brenda Lerner.)
We do not have a set date for our next Vocational Meeting, (Santos Anjos Open House) but if you feel called or wish to know more about us, we recommend you to start participating in the different activities of our Apostolate, particularly our Prayer and Sharing Group!
